MASSIVE

ETF2L

As pat posted earlier, we won the division 2A quite convincingly winning all the teams but one which we should have won really. WP to veAre, though. They just simply outplayed us on turbine.
The div2 championship means that we'll be in division 1 next season battling with the best.
Season 5 is said to begin november/december 2009, an estimated date which I honestly thought to be an april's fool but guess not.
At first our main goal was to win division 3, but as we got surprisingly moved up to division 2 after the disbanding of hb0da, we just wanted to finish mid-high in the more challenging division. Eventually we got better and just wanted to win the whole shit and that's what happened really.

UKeSA Championship season 1

Went quite well finishing with a record of 7 wins and 0 losses/ties in the group stages, although it wasn't very hard as delirium folded alongside with nwave that might have been a possible threat. Next on we'll be facing tougher teams such as Vale! and it's a farm(Die Doppelnullen) in the playoffs.

UKeSA Open Cup season 1

Just played our first game against it's a farm(Die Doppelnullen)
Badlands was extremely tight with mostly us ruling the game for 25 minutes and having a 2-0 lead, but doppelnullen getting their shit together and coming back to the game ending the map in a 2-2 tie.
Granary was the same story really, but this time the game was 0-0 for the first 25 minutes and doppelnullen getting a round in the last 5.
Good game but the outcome was incredibly frustrating for us.

Wireplay

A new season just started and so far we have played one game which was against Zee, a team consisting of the best frenchies + Acidrenix.
Was quite a good game overall. We started a bit slow losing badlands 3-4 but came back strong and took the win on granary, 5-2.
The next game will be against wotr, perhaps we'll finally pin them down!

ESL

Tied a few games we should not have. Can't really complain about not being in the highest division with such results. Still have a few games left but they shouldn't be a problem.

Enemy Down season 5

New season about to start, the premier division is looking pretty good with a few top teams missing but then again a few new able teams entering the competition.

Cadred March top10

Interestingly we made it to the Cadred top 10 listing of march with our awful performance.
Generally march was just awful for us in every way but we have been doing better again lately and looking to keep our position in the april listing, or even gaining a rank or two.

Pat's blog

Patriarch started publishing some TF2 related stuff in a blog format. So far the blog has been a huge success with people praising it for the witty writing and daring opinions.
The blog can be viewed at http://archtapir.blogspot.com/

LAN

Hopefully we'll be able to wield a team for the community lan(thecommunitylan.com) that will be held in july.
So far we have three confirmed attendees, myself, Admirable and cube. The others are a bit so and so with Altbst and pat being definite no's.

Vallone

Recently added vallone to our roster. He will act as our number one backup player, the ultimate merc who will step up in the times of need.

Massivity

Thought this to be the blog post of the century but in the end it seems a bit lame and boring.

Champions of ETF2L (kinda)

So we finished first in our division @ ETF2L:

Overall a decent season. We achieved our goal of automatic promotion and played fairly well, although losing on Turbine (to a very determined vR) in our last game was a shame. Our other 'booboos' were two drawn maps against dmg and FB who came joint 2nd and will need a pre-playoff playoff to decide who makes the playoffs. Only 7 of 10 teams in our division finished the season and one of those will be/is folded now, but we enjoyed all our games in season 4 nonetheless. Now we have a long and painful season 5 lined up, after a summer break.

In other news, wltrs is 'back' after a short emo vacation. No-one knows what he was doing or why but he likes TF2 again (yay) and he wants us all to play more. Deith has a new PC and seems slightly happier (according to Pizza) - though he doesn't say much so we dont know for sure.

Finally, there's a new TF2-related blog. It won't be gossip or news, but more thoughts on the game, the clans and the noob players. Oh and it's written by me. Check it out HERE

Peace out.

PS. Pizza is da bomb

World of Wotrcraft

After a long discussion this morning, me and Patrick decided to leave TF2 behind us and move on to a game with more content and faster gameplay.

Statement from Patrick "pat" McClane:
Me and Pizza have grown tired of the clan and we are moving back our first love, WoW. BB GL and see you in Azeroth!

WE JUST AINT THE SAME WITHOUT ROBBE

Naturally coming from me, this story is horse shit. I did play WoW for 38 minutes though :<

I don't know where wltrs is, hope he's ok!!! =(
PS: sjurb, I fixed your picture!

sjurb's corner

So Pizza asked me to contribute to the blog despite me not having anything to talk about.

There is the very real possibility that reading this unstructured post of random thoughts may bore you to tears but Boss Pizza tells me he expects this done by the time he comes back from the pizzeria (a pizza shop or Pizza's house?)

Let's jump into real life first. Monday-Friday wake up at 7am shower-shave-shit then it's off to the hospital for a day's work to pay the bills. Currently working as a Biomedical Scientist in the NHS. My deprtment is Microbiology/Virology so any of the superbug stuff you read in the papers (MRSA, C. diff, Noro Virus) is the stuff I mess with. From testicle skin scrapings to faecal examinations- if your body can make it I can work with it. For all the whining I do about it it's actually a pretty good job. It can be immensly satisfying when you follow a patient's sample through from collection to results but you do need a tough skin- it can be pretty depressing looking at some of the patient details- 5 year olds with leukaemia, 30-something women with breast cancer, geriatrics who likely won't be alive by the time you finish with their sample... MEDIC!

I don't get back home until 6pm which I guess is the reason my TF2 activity has been pretty poor for a long while. With alty and cube being really active and reliable and Ads being online most evenings it's neigh-on impossible to get a good run in the team. When it was at its worst in February as I was really keen to play but couldn't, I think it's fair to say I threw my toys out the pram- "LET ME PLAY YOU'RE ALL SHIT". Since then I've realised how unfair it is to ask to take the place of someone who plays more than me so like a respectable ninja I've dropped back into the shadows. It's been 3 weeks now since I've played with wotr2 but I'm still up for playing. I think being a backup is the best I can hope for given my (in)activity and inability to say which nights I'll be here. At work we've recently arranged to play football on Monday nights and I'm usually at my girlfriend's on a Tuesday and Thursday which makes Wednesday and Friday the only weeknights I'm around.

In those 3 weeks I've hopping across different games. Me and phoenix/penix/Josh from NS days play a fair bit of Dawn of War 2. It's an RTS game light on strategy which makes it easy for us to hop on for a couple of games. Also bought Unreal Tournament 3 after the free weekend. The netcode is shockingly bad but it looks jaw-droppingly beautiful. Also had a game of NS with frG's adopted Spanish team. Funnily enough playing DoW2 has given me a better scope of what's needed to command well, despite having played NS since release day. Still- the game is dead so I don't think I'll be going back to it. Oh, and got in touch SpaceJesus/esJ. Pretty out of the blue but he's into EVE online these days. I've been persuaded to give it a go using the Steam trial- a recent update has changed the start for new players so I'll see how it goes. Finally, I'll get back into Quake Live since it went public. All these games should keep me interested when I'm home alone and bored!

Interesting final note- it seems Cube was harshly banned in the ETF2L for a forum post. It wasn't that bad- admins must have been on their period or something but as the thread on the sandman made the head admin quit heads were bound to roll. With his 3 months ban this will free up a soldier slot that I could compete for. Unfortunately (for me) the only team left to play in that league is veAre.black. The game shold be a walkover regardless of who we field which is unforunate for me!

sherpa out.

Olaf is out for blood

cube let his dark intentions take over and posted from his heart regarding sandman limit 1 in the ETF2L:

Lame jokes aside, I see a reason why something like that would be punished but I find a 3 month ban rather harsh for something so minor. It affects our team greatly if cube doesn't get to play in the first few games of the upcoming season when we start in the first division.

Quote from an admin:
"well you gave us no other option, most wanted a 1 year ban for this. hopefully 3 months are enough to learn from it"
Makes me wonder what sort of people they have in the admin crew. A one year ban would probably kill us as a team.
